Amazon Sighting [Mar. 28th, 2008|10:16 am]
The World of Velgarth

So, I was on amazon.com today looking up upcoming releases for M.L., sorting by publication date.

I happen to see....

Foundation: Book One of the Collegium Chronicles (A Valdemar Novel) due Oct 7, 2008

Moving Targets and Other Stories of Valdemar due Dec 8, 2008.

Anyone else see anything about those? Her main site hasn't been updated in forever (as far as bibliography).

I didn't even see these on amazon.com when I searched Mercedes Lackey.

Don't know.

I hadn't seen anything about those until your post, but I have been hearing something vague about her possibly writing about the Foundation of Valdemar for a while. Now I must bounce a lot in my seat at the idea of another Valdemar novel with an anthology as a Christmas bonus :-)

She did say she was taking a break a few yrs ago for like 3 years from Valdemar. She did that so her stories didnt get dry. She wrote the dragon jouster books and the fairy tale books during then. So I assume her break from Valdemar is comming to a close and shes thought of how she wants to write whats been floating in her head.

She always said she wanted to do a begining of Valdemar/Collegium Chronicles. :D Im getting excited that the books might be a possibility within the end of this yr or 2009 if they get pushed back.

I just can't believe it's been so long already and glad the break is over. I guess maybe I can't believe it because I read all of her works over and over so much. Hehe.

When she said "break" before I figured it'd be 7-10 years, honestly, especially with the Joust series, the 500 Kingdoms, the Obsidian Series, the Elemental Masters series... so yeah, seeing those two on the list of 4(!!) books from her coming out this year makes me happy.

I'd heard first of the Anthology, because Tanya Huff posted in her LJ about working on her story for it. I saw the other one in Borders' computer system when I went to check the release date for the anthology.
